In order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the people's Republic of China, the university’s trade union held the chorus contest called "singing for the Motherland" for vigorously manifesting the spirit of patriotism, stimulating the patriotic emotion, strength, innovative and pioneer spirit and showing the high-spirited and energetic spirit of the vast number of the teaching staff at the Concert Hall of the Conservatory of Music from 14: 30 to 18: 00 on September 27, 2019.

Leading by Niu Mu, the secretory, Qin Guohua, the vice president and Guo Donggang, the Chairman, 39 representatives from the Environmental Science Center and the CERS attended the contest. With full enthusiasm the teachers sang a song "Blessing the Motherland" affectionately and softly, won warm applause and the price "Top Ten performance Awards". The price was awarded by Professor Fu Huiming, the secretary of the Party Committee of Shanxi University, and Professor Huang Guitian, the president of Shanxi University.

It enhanced the friendship, strengthened the cohesion, and nurtured the patriotic spirit of the staff through this choral contest.
